Hello, welcome to the first edition of our project newsletter.

After a lot of careful planning and consideration we have now resumed work on site after a 4 week period ensuring the project team and supply chain have all the correct procedures and policies in place to comply with the Covid 19 guidelines , these include safe working practices and appropriate social distancing measures for everyone on site.
This has been collaborative effort between the whole Project Team but would like so say a special thanks to Alison Fearns – Project Manger for BFS for facilitating and coordinating these matters.

So far the groundworks team have been busy excavating the deep pad foundations with their 13-ton excavator!

The team are also half way through a programme of enabling works to the existing ED Reception to facilitate the new structure and link.

The building is made up of a steel frame that supports the roof and the walls. These steel columns are bolted down on to concrete pads and reinforced with steel cages that hold them together. These pads can be up to 4 meters below the ground so that the building is sat on firm foundations.

Over the next two weeks

Over the next two weeks will see all the foundations completed ready for erecting the main structural steelwork frame. We will also be looking to start work in the existing basement level, in preparation for the all the new mechanical and electrical services extending and upgrading these to serve the new facility.
The enabling works to the existing ED Reception will also complete in this period.
